Well the film race is done. Thursday is the showing, and we'll see what happens.
It was interesting. Didn't go the way I'd intended, and was let down by flaky actresses and crew that were supposed to be there but just didn't turn up. They're crossed of my Christmas card list, that's for sure.
In the end, I found a great DP and cast. Didn't write anything, as there was an uncertain element in the thing - the *$#@& actress - who just let us down. How do you write something that will include someone who you can't contact? So be it.
So we did some shots, did some improvs, and made something that was a bit wacky in the end, as we didn't know where to go with it. The idea was to have some music in it, which I wrote and recorded in the last hour but which I was nervous about putting on it as it was so close to the Beatles "Hard Day's Night" that there just might have been copyright issues. So the music didn't get added, for fear of getting disqualified.
It was fun, though. I think we can do something now with the actors - the characters we now have from the piece - including Billy's wife, Elizabeth, who played "not Frank" It's given me a real sense that I can actual produce a film that will have some depth and quality, and look good, too.
Need to find someone to do sound, though...
