Use of split screen

This was a quick video I made for the "Artist's Way" group. It's my inner voices that criticize me for anything I do.

Regardless of its own artistic merit (it was made in just a few minutes, so hardly took much thought) it is something I want to pursue as a style in making film.

Not to the degree I've done here, with so many "windows", but I like split screen. I remember seeing "The Thomas Crown Affair" back in the 70s that used a really nice split screen for telling a story rather well. The elements of things happening at the same time were conveyed in a unique way. You can see something of it in this trailer for the film, although it doesn't feature the examples that I remember as being really good:

So I'll be playing around with that idea in something soon.
