So some things got aired last night about how I feel about the character I'm playing in STRINGS.
It's been bothering me immensely that I just haven't had him under my skin. Been sending me all over the place emotionally, mentally and so forth. I've felt I've been going crazy, not just in not finding the character, but because of what it all leads to: who I would let down, the loss of self esteem and so on.
But it's still experience: for me as an actor, and as a person - and as a professional.
But here are some still from the production

Other stuff:
One of the crew dropped out yesterday. For a number of reasons I can't mention here, at least yet. But again it's a complicated business holding so many creative people together. Not something that can be done lightly. There are about 50 actors, 50 locations and 130 odd scenes. I wouldn't attempt that with my first feature.
But I really do have to stop waffling about all this. I have to get writing this thing and, as I've said, make some crap movie.
The important thing is that I do something, as I keep saying, because by doing something at least, I'm learning, and staying in the creative loop.
And it's all about staying in the creative loop.
Crap. I've done crap already. Now I have to do more - until I find something that actually works.
Next, I have to do projects that last a bit longer than a day or two to make. Next, I have to make some projects that take a week or so. And have some happening at the same time.
But this is more waffling, isn't it?
..................................................
Well, I'm doing more wedding videos, and getting better at it all the time. Putting more work into them, with nice edits, music, playing with transitions. Next I want to play with some special effects. I have Adobe After Effects, which I haven't yet played with. Lots of opportunity to do things with it. I'm hoping I can play with camera movement, to reduce the wobble with hand held camera.
Doing weddings is certainly helping me with learning the process of making films. All aspects of film making are there: certainly in making films "on the fly"
Might take a look at some more books on the subject, such as "Guerrilla film making" and others. Also books on making documentary.
